John Brannon focuses his practice on patent prosecution and licensing of intellectual property.  John frequently gives talks on patents and trade secret law.  John has a Ph.D. in Ceramic Engineering as well as an undergraduate degree in Physics.  He has conducted graduate research on high-temperature oxide superconductors, developed ceramic oxide fuel cell materials, and taught classes on electronic ceramic materials.  Prior to becoming an attorney, John spent five years as a research engineer with General Electric Superabrasives where he designed processes for growing industrial diamonds.  His technical experience includes analysis and testing of diamonds, engineering of superabrasive materials, investigation of solid-oxide fuel cell devices, investigation of multilayer ceramic capacitor systems, and the design and engineering management of diamond abrasive manufacturing techniques.

John received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and Ceramic Engineering, his Masters Degree in Ceramic Engineering, and his Ph.D. in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.  John received his J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
