Laura Thomas focuses her practice on pre-litigation counseling regarding patent and commercial disputes. Laura has served as counsel for corporations seeking invalidity and non-infringement analyses in the medical device field, drafted re-examination briefs and counseled clients in re-examination strategy. She is familiar with all phases of commercial litigation, from service of the complaint, through discovery, dispositive motions, trial and appeal. Laura was a trial-team member in a three-month infringement and breach of contract trial regarding medical device patents, which resulted in a positive outcome for her client.
Laura obtained her B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, at Berkeley (1988) and her J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law – Bloomington (2000), where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. |
